Mannvit is a project-driven company where people from various departments work together and the project groups are constantly changing. It is therefore important that people know each other well and find it easy to work together.
One of Mannvit’s strengths is how much of the social life within the company is employee-created. We have used the platform Workplace, which is similar to Facebook, to connect people and various groups have been created there, focusing on a variety of interests. It is true that managers play an important part in developing and sustaining a positive corporate culture, but this becomes much easier and more successful when employees also show initiative in sustaining an active social life within the company.

We have striven to increase information flow within the company and give people a chance to know what’s going on in other project and specialist groups. We have done this within Workplace and with information displays in the cafeterias. Engineering consultancy reaches all parts of society and Mannvit employees take an active part in various seminars and other events where progress and development in society is discussed. Mannvit takes an active part in innovation and development in Iceland. Employees are encouraged to be creative and their innovation and development work is of much importance to the company.
Mannvit has always placed great importance on environmental and safety issues and been a leading example in this field. We are now beginning to think about these factors in a much wider context, with an emphasis on sustainability and social responsibility. We have set ambitious goals regarding the environment, safety and equality and make sure that sustainability is a constant factor in all our operations.
